One of my favorite bands, The National, performed live on David Letterman last night.  Look carefully to catch Sufjan Stevens singing backup and rockin’ a mean tambourine.  Enjoy.

For all those of you who have supported and followed Invisible Children and their journey to pass the LRA Disarmament and Uganda Recovery Act, we have good news! The bill has passed and is sitting on the President’s desk waiting to be signed!  This is a huge step in the fight to end Africa’s longest running war.  Watch and share!

Art Therapy In Haiti – You Can Help!

Hey Everyone! As many of you know I am heading back to Haiti in a few weeks.

While in Haiti, I will be working on multiple projects such as helping to build an orphanage, providing family portraits to local families,  and documenting stories of earthquake survivors.

However, there is one project that I am extremely excited about and that is an Art Therapy Project with children who survived or lost relatives in the January earthquake.

This will be an amazing opportunity for the children of Haiti to express their emotions and feelings in a constructive and creative way.

But to make this project happen I need YOUR help!

Within the next week and a half I am looking to collect as many basic art supplies as possible.

::Supplies Needed::

- Sketch Books (We need 60 total. This is our biggest need!)
- Kids Oil Pastels
- Kids watercolor sets
- Crayons
- Colored Pencils
- Regular Pencils
- Pencil Sharpeners
- Modeling clay
- Regular construction paper
- kids safety scissors
- glue sticks.

All of these are pretty basic and cheap supplies that can be found in stores such as Wal-Mart, Target, Kroger’s, etc.

$5 or $10 can go a long way to help a child express, perhaps for the first time, the emotions and pain s/he has felt since the devastating earthquake that rocked their country.

If you would be willing to purchase some of these supplies that would be amazing!

Simply leave me a message or send me an e-mail saying that you are going to buy some supplies and I will come pick them up from you.

Thank you for showing your love and generosity to the children of a country that I love deeply.

Summer is just about here, which means it’s time for summer concert season to begin!

I’m already hitting up Kings of Leon/Black Keys, Jack Johnson, and at least one day of Lollapalooza.

I’m sure a few more concerts will sneak in to my list as well.

What concerts are you looking forward to checking out this summer?
